About the author:
Born in the Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean region in Quebec, Janick Laberge is a medical doctor and a speaker. She also has a bachelor's and master's degree in visual arts. Her artistic work has been presented and awarded in Canada and abroad. She has been interested in creative writing for years and now wishes to devote most of her time to it. In June 2020, she published her first collection of short stories Les secrets de l'Institut and, at the same time, she created her own publishing house, DENDRIT Editions. This first novel, The Genome, responds perfectly to her objectives of entertaining, informing, while provoking emotions. Through this scientific thriller, she deals with topical issues including the emergence of new diseases and genetic manipulation.
